Description
Mekong, located at the Anantara The Palm Resort & Spa at Palm Jumeirah, is the hotel’s signature eatery and offers a medley of delicious Pan-Asian cuisine, including Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese. This venue has really managed to make its warm and ornate space a meeting point of contemporary and timeless design.
The food offering is a real combination of Far Eastern flavors, with a large selection of Chinese and Thai dishes complimented by a smaller choice of Vietnamese specialties. A large range of appetizers can make it difficult to choose what to go for as it all sounds pretty delicious, but we love the tasty crunchy pomelo salad, and king scallops with green mango salad and tamarind glaze. Mains include traditional staples such as a very authentic Thai green curry as well as more contemporary options like the stunningly presented Chinese oven-baked cod. Save some room for dessert, as it’s definitely a highlight at Mekong! The sago pearl, cantaloupe and palm-sugar pot is one of our favorite all-time desserts in Dubai.
A distinctly oriental atmosphere is created with classical lanterns, Asian statues and rippling water features, while the view of the Burj Al Arab bring a taste of Dubai to the dining experience. We love the restored tuk-tuk table! The interior is a combination of woods, bamboo screens, silk panels and mosaic-papered walls, which creates a tasteful combination of designs that reflect all three countries.
